"If you want to view paradise, simply look around and view it."

The Chocolate Factory is a place that is far more fantastic than any child or adult could ever dream up.

Charlie Bucket refers to it as "the most wonderful place in the whole world!"

The Factory as Heaven

Much like Heaven, the gates of Willy Wonka's Chocolate Factory can only be opened by those who are worthy. "He was afraid and said, 'How awesome is this place! This is none other than the house of God; this is the gate of heaven.'"(Genesis 28:17). Paradise is a miraculous place where everyone wants to go, but not everyone is deserving of the privilege to go there. The factory has many resemblences of Paradise including rivers and gardens; very sugary ones in the novel and films.

The Rules & Regulations

The guests who are going on Willy Wonka's tour are instructed to sign a contract stating that they will obey the rules when they enter the factory. Similarly, in order to enter Heaven, people must have followed the Ten Commandments while alive.

God; the Creator

Willy Wonka, the creator of the Chocolate Factory resembles God, the creator of Heaven and Earth. In further detail, I explore Willy Wonka as God on my Willy Wonka page. If Willy Wonka is God, then we have to assume he resides in a Paradise-like location, which happens to be the Chocolate Factory. Wonka also refers to the factory as Paradise.

"We'll begin with a spin,
traveling in the world of my creation.
What we'll see will defy explanation"(Willy Wonka)

Below, you can listen to Willy Wonka sing "Pure Imagination", a very catchy song that has a religious reference: "Paradise".
